Sitting by the river one lunchtime, I decided to extend my One Minute series to include landscapes as well. This is The River Thames from Datchet with Kris Cruisers in the background.

I had read about the Brushes iPhone app and saw the New Yorker cover which was done in Brushes, so I purchased the app (just as it dropped to £2.39 yay!) and have been playing with it all weekend.
I quickly did a (very) rough portrait of a friend and love how immediate it is. I’ve been doing some oil painting recently but I had forgotten how time consuming it is, having to wait a week or so for large areas to dry. So on Sunday we had some friends over and I did some more ‘one minute portraits’. They are quick, rough and sometimes funny but lots of fun!
